A community based-based literacy and writing practice rooted in the belief that access to language, reading, and writing is a form of wealth and reclaiming it is revolutionary.

IT IS IN COLLECTIVITIES THAT WE FIND RESERVOIRS OF HOPE AND OPTIMISM

About Revolutionary Rich
Revolutionary Rich is a community-based literacy, writing, and creative practice rooted in the belief that access to language, imagination, and interior life is a form of wealth and reclaiming it is revolutionary.
We host small, facilitated gatherings centered on poetry, short texts, writing, and thoughtful conversation. The work is slow, non-institutional, and grounded in care rather than performance.
Revolutionary Rich was born from a desire to build spaces where thinking is honored, voice is nurtured, and literacy is approached not as meditation but liberation. We believe that language is powerful, reading is political, writing clarifies the self, and community can be built around attention and care.
This is not a class or a program.
It is a shared practice.
Facilitated by Summayyah Shakir-educator, writer, and community steward.
